Traditional band and orchestra instruments typically take many years of study (if ever at all) until new musicians can meaningfully contribute and participate in a church or small group setting outside of a larger group like the band or orchestra. This is often true of traditional piano instruction as well.
With a dedicated syllabus and targeted instruction, Living Music Studio aims to help performers be prepared to play in non-traditional environments (like a Praise team) as they gain a well-rounded foundation of their instrument’s fundamentals. Mr. Lynn has been helping musicians for decades to successfully extend and apply their talents beyond the method book and classical stage.
What will students learn?

Musicians will gain confidence and mastery in the most common keys used in most music ministries – from scales to arpeggios, and harmonic chords to melodies.
All instrumental students will unlock not only how to read music but also how to play from a common chord or lead sheet.
Students become versatile musicians as they develop their ability to play by ear in a small group or ensemble setting.
Instrumentalists will begin to transpose (change musical keys) early in their study to help them adapt to non-traditional music groups.
These skills and many more are systematically and strategically introduced to the student to help them gain musical functionality very early on. In addition to this targeted instruction plan, Mr. Lynn will partner with you and your music ministry’s leadership to discuss potential opportunities and skills needed to specifically tailor your educational program for your context.
Above all else, Mr. Lynn aims to help instill character and virtue alongside a biblical foundation of worship to those students who elect and enroll in this program of study.
